Five appearances in December, three of them in the starting XI, and two goals to boot. That's anything but a poor record – especially for a 17-year-old! Lennart Karl caused a sensation at the end of last year with his carefree playing style. Garnering over 45 per cent of the votes cast, he secured the title of FC Bayern Player of the Month for the first time – ahead of his teammates Harry Kane (18 per cent) and Michael Olise (13 per cent).
In addition to his goal in the home game against Mainz (2–2), Karl also scored in the last Champions League match of the year against Sporting Lisbon (3–1), setting a new record in the process. The striker became the youngest player in the history of Europe's premier club competition (since 1992/93) to score in three consecutive games – at just 17 years and 290 days old.
Even the winter break couldn't slow down the attacking maestro's impressive form. In the only friendly before the start of competitive action in 2026, a 5-0 win at FC Red Bull Salzburg, Karl excelled with two goals and an assist. Long may it continue!
In the Goal of the Month poll, Karl was pipped to the post by the ‘Alpine Zidane’ Konrad Laimer:
