Lens’ Angelo Fulgini receives maiden New Caledonia call-up | OneFootball

Angelo Fulgini (29) on loan at Saudi Pro League side Al-Taawoun from RC Lens, has received a first call-up to the New Caledonia national team.

Fulgini has played 24 times for the Saudi Pro League side in all competitions, netting three goals and registering 10 assists. The playmaker featured for France’s youth sides, notably making three appearances for the U21 side, however, he never made a senior appearance for Les Bleus.

He has now been called up by French territory New Caledonia for the first time. The call comes as the nation are set for one of the biggest games in their history. They will face Jamaica in Mexico later this month in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. Beat the Caribbean nation and they will then face DR Congo for a place in the group stage of next summer’s World Cup, set to be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
