Léo Pereira surpasses Juan as Flamengo’s top-scoring centre-back this century | OneFootball

Léo Pereira's equaliser in the 1-1 draw with São Paulo at the Maracanã took him to 19 goals for Flamengo, moving past Juan as the club’s top-scoring centre-back of this century.

According to Globo.com, the 30-year-old is under contract until the end of 2027 and has received a 10 million euro offer from Besiktas of Türkiye, worth R$ 58.1 million, for 100% of his economic rights.

It was his second goal in 2026. His most prolific season came in 2025, when he scored six.

After the match, he said he was happy to score and to be back playing at the Maracanã after nearly two months, and he praised the team's effort. He has been described by former coach Filipe Luís as the best defender in Brazil.

If he remains with Flamengo and renews his deal, he could chase the club’s all-time record for defenders, 32 goals, jointly held by Juan and Júnior Baiano.
