Leon Goretzka to leave Bayern Munich at season's end | OneFootball

Bayern Munich said in a statement that Leon Goretzka will leave at the end of the season when his contract expires. The announcement came on Friday on social media.

The Germany midfielder, 30, joined in 2018. He is poised to pass 300 games for Bayern, having made 292 appearances and scored 47 goals.

The club framed the move as the close of eight successful years, and said the focus now is on chasing more silverware together before he departs.

Since arriving, Goretzka has won six Bundesliga titles, two German Cups, three German Super Cups and the 2020 Champions League. Bayern are on course for a seventh league crown.

Courted by Atlético Madrid this winter, he described himself as honoured by interest from major international clubs. After constructive talks, he considers this the right moment to open a new chapter, as a footballer and as a man.
