Cristiano Ronaldo’s 100th goal of his revolutionary Roshn Saudi League career could just prove one of his most important yet.
The Al Nassr captain has, of course, made moments and milestones a hallmark of his five-time Ballon d’Or CV.
However, on Thursday night at a nervy Al Shabab Stadium, Ronaldo swept home Sadio Mane’s cross deep into the second half to ease the pressure on his championship chasers.
The goal put Al Nassr 3-1 up on the night and, while the celebrations were cut shot by Ali Al Bulaihi’s quick riposte, Ronaldo and Co eventually triumphed 4-2. Joao Felix, Ronaldo’s compatriot and more-than-capable colleague, netted a hat-trick.
With it, Al Nassr’s lead at the top of the RSL restored to five points meaning, should they defeat second-placed Al Hilal in a Capital Derby for the ages next Tuesday, Jorge Jesus’ side will be crowned champions for the first time since 2019.
Ronaldo, now with 100 goals 105 RSL games, knew the importance.
"What a win tonight!!!," the two-time golden boot winner, who climbed to 26 goals for the 2025-26 campaign
