A new star is blazing a trail in LaLiga, and his name is Karl Etta Eyong. The Cameroonian international has become the breakout sensation for UD Levante, with his electrifying performances sending shockwaves through the league and inevitably placing him on the radars of Europe's elite clubs.
The scale of his rising stock became clear when Levante received and promptly rejected a staggering €30 million offer from CSKA Moscow. Despite the Russian club's tempting financial package, the 22-year-old striker himself showed no desire to make the move, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to his current team.
Adding clarity to the situation, Levante's CEO, José Danvila, has publicly drawn a line in the sand. He confirmed that Eyong will not be sold in the January transfer window, and contrary to the buzzing rumors, no official offers have yet been lodged from the likes of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, or any Premier League clubs.
Further complicating any immediate transfer is a binding FIFA regulation. Having already played for two clubs (Villarreal and Levante) this season, Eyong is ineligible to register for a third and can, at most, sign a pre-contract for a summer move. In a strategic counter-move to shield their prized asset, Levante is now reportedly considering fortifying his contract with an improved deal, a direct effort to quiet the growing speculation.
