Robert Lewandowski might be in the midst of his poorest goalscoring season in 15 years but he's had a night to remember as Newcastle fall apart at the Nou Camp.

The Polish icon came into tonight's Champions League round of 16 second leg with just 14 goals to his name this season due to a combination of form, injury and natural decline as he ages.

That decline looked to be continuing as he missed a great chance towards the end of a chaotic first half but he more than made up for it after the break.

Barcelona turned the screw with three goals in ten minutes ending the tie as a contest and Lewandowski got two of them with finishes more like the striker Europe has come to fear.

41 teams to be precise as the 37-year-old makes more history in a competition only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi (who he has gone past with this record) have scored more goals in than his 109.

With strong rumours of a summer departure, could Lewandowski's return to form be the key to Barça winning a first European Cup since 2015?
