The teenager was sidelined with a hamstring injury, and made his first start post injury in the 7-0 win against Port Vale in the FA Cup last weekend.

Rosenior has previously said Chelsea have missed Estevao, and he looks like he’ll play a key role over the final seven games.

Liam Rosenior on importance of Estevao

It would be a surprise if Estevao didn’t start Sunday’s game against Manchester City, which is crucial in the race for Champions League football.

Chelsea are chasing a first win against City since the 2021 Champions League final, a run which now stretches 12 games.

With Cole Palmer not at his best, a lot of the responsibility to get a positive result will likely fall at the feet of Estevao.

Rosenior was full of praise for the 18-year-old ahead of Sunday’s game and believes it’s a huge lift as he labelled him a “magnificent” player.

“The fans adore Estevao because he’s a magnificent player,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“We’ve missed him for two months and I think in the games we’ve had he would’ve made a huge difference for us in certain moments.

“It’s great that he looks really fresh and really fit for coming back and he’s going to play a huge part for us from now until the end of the season.”

Estevao has scored eight goals and registered four assists in 34 appearances in all competitions, but just two of those goals have come in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has scored 14 league goals, and has arguably been Chelsea’s player of the season, but they could do with him scoring a few more if the Blues are to finish in the top five and secure Champions League football.
