Lille swept aside Lens 3-0, inspired by the outstanding Fernandez-Pardo against a defence that struggled, with Celik most exposed. The result lifts LOSC provisionally into third place ahead of Marseille.
According to L'Équipe, Fernandez-Pardo squandered a one-on-one on 29 minutes. Özer then denied Edouard on 33, before the forward created a goal on 44, Correia added another on 49 and missed on 52, and Fernandez-Pardo sealed it from the spot on 58.
At the back, Meunier mixed secure defending with well-timed overlaps, while Ngoy stayed solid aside from a needless booking. Mandi was authoritative and distributed play with accurate long passes.
Perraud dominated his flank, shutting down Lens’s right and Thauvin, and his delivery helped force the penalty. Bentaleb was outstanding, his one-touch pass to Haraldsson on 19 minutes typifying his vision, while Bouaddi and Mukau drove the press, the latter stifling Sarr’s early outlets.
Haraldsson’s work-rate underpinned a smart attacking display, with Correia’s persistence rewarded by his strike. Fernandez-Pardo coupled tireless pressing with end product, finishing with a goal and an assist.
Coach Genesio kept faith with the Rennes and Marseille line-up, André’s return notwithstanding, with only Perraud coming in. The plan to block Sarr’s distribution through Mukau and to hit space behind Lens’s midfield, using Fernandez-Pardo’s speed, was executed superbly.
