Olivier Létang has ruled out the possibility of Benjamin Pavard (29) returning to Lille OSC this summer. LOSC had been linked with a move for their former defender.

Saudi side Neom SC have already registered a strong interest in the France international. They are offering for Pavard to become one of the best-paid players in the Saudi Pro League, however, for now, he has yet to open the door to the possibility of making the move to the Gulf State.

Olympique de Marseille have also been recently linked with a move, however, they are yet to make any concrete approach. Roberto De Zerbi has, however, gone public in his demand for reinforcements before the closure of the transfer window.

However, a deal will not be possible for Lille, as confirmed by Létang in a press conference on Friday. “He should arrive on Monday,” he joked.

Létang added, “I phoned Benjamin and we talked but even the transfer, we wouldn’t be able to pay it. There are things that are possible, and other things that are not. It would be great! I told him that I would love him to come back to us today. But there are economic considerations that are impossible to pull off.”

Under contract with Inter Milan until 2028, Pavard may still leave the Serie A side this summer. But he will not be joining Lille.
