Lille sit fifth in Ligue 1 and stayed in the podium hunt with a 2-1 comeback at Marseille, stretching their unbeaten run to eight matches. According to L'Équipe, it followed a 2-1 victory at Rennes a week earlier.
In Marseille they kept their composure after falling behind, then levelled through Thomas Meunier before Olivier Giroud struck the winner. The display echoed the collective control shown in Brittany.
Giroud has framed fifth as a first target and urged restraint, saying this was no reason to shout about the title. With their early-2026 wobble easing, the Champions League places could yet come into view.
Their Europa League round-of-16 exit to Aston Villa has been absorbed, with the league now the sole focus. Bruno Genesio noted the sadness, said they were caught on a counter, and at half-time demanded calm and patience.
After the international break in about two weeks, Benjamin André, Osame Sahraoui, Ethan Mbappé and Gaëtan Perrin are expected to return, ahead of hosting Lens on Saturday 4 April. Lille are level with Lyon, two points behind OM, and visit Monaco on 9 May, the penultimate matchday. Genesio said confidence is returning but remains fragile.
