After a tough match against Club Necaxa, Inter Miami got the victory on penalties. Before Falcon's red card, Rodrigo De Paul delivered a crucial pass to Segovia, who turned it into the first goal of the evening.
However, not everything was happiness when the team scored the goal.
Every fan watching the match was keeping an eye out for any news related to Lionel Messi. The Heron's captain was taken off due to a muscle strain after receiving a hit.
Despite the scary moment, Inter Miami released a statement regarding Messi's condition.
Knowing the competitive fire inside the Heron's captain, it was weird to see him ask for the subbed. Javier Mascherano said that Messi doesn't want to miss any games.
Still, that moment suggested it was serious. But, according to Inter Miami, Messi has a minor muscle injury in the right leg.
Due to this information, the Argentinian forward is set to miss the matches against Pumas on Wednesday and the derby against Orlando City. Expecting the worst, Inter Miami finds itself with good news at the moment.
Regarding the Leagues Cup, the Herons have enough squad to address any challenge Pumas could offer. However, the game against Orlando City is another story.
Last time, the Lions won 3-0, one of the worst games under Javier Mascherano.
With this Saturday's injury, Lionel Messi registers his 9th injury with the Herons. During his first year, "La Pulga" was out of the field for 63 days, spread across six different injuries.
Now, he registered three more injuries that marginalize him from the match squad for more than two months.
