Unfortunately, football is a cut-throat business and it feels like despite Elliott's very best efforts and despite him being an extremely special talent, who is showcasing his quality at the U21 Euros, his time could be coming to an end at Anfield.

With the arrival of Florian Wirtz, Elliott looks likely to move onto pastures new this summer. Even without Wirtz, Elliott's minutes were limited in the first team last season.

Despite making an impact every time he came on the pitch, Arne Slot did not have him high on the list in his pecking order. For a young player who needs to play minutes in order to fulfil his potential Elliott knows his best options is to leave the club.

And just as he leaves, it seems like Liverpool could be bringing in their next Elliott.

According to a recent report Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Gabriel Schluter from Blackpool.

The 16-year-old has many parallels with Elliott. For one, he is a record-breaker. Elliott was Fulham's youngest ever player when he joined Liverpool, Schluter is Blackpool's youngest ever player.

Both of them debuted in the first team at 15-years-old and both of them will or have signed for Liverpool at 16-years-old.

And what's even more interesting is that just like Elliott who was a boyhood Liverpool fan inspired by his father, who also supported the Reds, Schluter also comes from a family of Liverpool supporters, and even visited Anfield last season.

His family were at the trophy parade last month, which suggests they are pretty diehard fans. Similar to Elliott and his family who went to Kyiv for the Champions League final in 2018.

On top of that, Schluter just like Elliott is a massive talent. He's caught the eye in Berlin at the Nike Speed Cup games scoring against Ben Foster.

He scored a penalty on his pro debut at just 15-years-old against Liverpool's U21 side in the EFL Trophy.

It's important to not get carried away, but it's clear that Schluter has a lot of potential and Liverpool could be landing a real gem here with the drive and the motivation to succeed at Anfield.
