Liverpool and AC Milan have joined the race to sign Bayern Munich centre-back, Kim Min-Jae this summer in a cut-price deal amid competition from Newcastle United and Chelsea, according to reports.
In April, GGFN reported that Bayern Munich are open to offers and now interest is growing across Europe as the Summer transfer window is in full swing.
Bayern Munich paid €50 million for Kim to Napoli two years ago and are reportedly demanding at least €30 million for a transfer, ruling out a loan.
Premier League champions, Liverpool and Head Coach, Arne Slot have already moved quickly, with Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong signing.
Germany’s Bundesliga seems to be a key market for Liverpool and their next target has now emerged.
Sporting director, Richard Hughes looks to strengthen Liverpool’s defence with South Korean, Kim Min-Jae, this summer.
Kim Min-Jae made 43 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions and shone in the Champions League and Bundesliga, including nine clean sheets since January and stand-out performances away to Freiburg and Leverkusen.
However, injury concerns mean that Kim Min-Jae will miss the Club World Cup.
Kim Min-Jae last completed 90 minutes in early April and missed the final three games of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga-winning season through injury,
Sport Bild reports that the Bundesliga defender is struggling with both inflammation in his left Achilles tendon and a fluid filled cyst in his foot. It is unclear how this will affect his market value.
Liverpool will face stiff competition to sign Kim Min-Jae.
The defender has piqued the interest of AC Milan.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italians have already contacted the German record champions.
Kim, who has previous Serie A experience with SSC Napoli, is a desired signing by new AC Milan coach, Massimiliano Allegri.
AC Milan would like to further reduce the transfer fee and Kim’s high annual salary, reportedly around €9 million.
However, sources close to the situation indicate that the defender’s preference is towards a Premier League move.
