Liverpool have appointed Bournemouth’s Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper as first-team coaches, reuniting them with Andoni Iraola.

According to NY Times, Pablo de la Torre also arrives as assistant coach and Tom Webber becomes first-team tactical analyst.

All four previously worked with Iraola at Bournemouth, who finished sixth in the Premier League last season.

Liverpool are rebuilding after sacking Arne Slot in May, following a disappointing campaign after the 2024-25 title-winning season. Slot’s assistants Giovanni Van Bronkhorst and Sipke Hulshoff have since joined Feyenoord, while Ruben Peeters has also departed as head of physical performance.

Iraola’s brief is to repair some of the damage left behind and lift Liverpool back into title contention, leaning on aides who thrived with him at Bournemouth between 2023 and 2026.

Elphick drew interest from Football League clubs for a head coach role this summer but chose to remain with Iraola. He is expected to manage in his own right in future.

Cooper later held a leadership role at Bournemouth after coaching the development team, while Pablo de la Torre has worked with Iraola at his last three clubs. The staff are preparing for pre-season and a United States trip, with the first friendly on July 25 against Sunderland.
