In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Liverpool are locked in a three-way battle for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. It has been mentioned that the Reds would have to rival Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to land the Brazilian wide player next year.

Rodrygo’s Recent Form In La Liga

Rodrygo has struggled to nail down a regular first-team place at the Madrid club this season, but has managed to catch the eye at times for them in the final third. The Brazilian attacker has participated in 13 matches for Los Blancos in this campaign so far, securing a couple of assists in the process across all fronts.

The 24-year-old has proven his worth in the opponent’s half by averaging 3.45 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 50% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo has even distributed possession after making 83.2% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Madrid club will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Liverpool to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Will Rodrygo Be A Good Option For Liverpool Boss Arne Slot?

Rodrygo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Brazilian talent can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top when he is playing regularly on the field. He is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if required.

Rodrygo would add more firepower to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s attack. He has what it takes to challenge Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.

At 24, Rodrygo has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Reds to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. However, there are some question marks over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.
