Jamie Redknapp has pinpointed Liverpool’s problems at full-back as a reason behind their mini-blip.

Liverpool slumped to their third straight defeat across all competitions after conceding a late goal against Chelsea on Saturday evening.

The result means Arne Slot’s side go into the October international break second in the Premier League table as a result of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham earlier in the day.

Attempting to explain Liverpool’s dip in form, Redknapp believes Trent Alexander-Arnold is proving to be a big miss for the Merseyside outfit and that Milos Kerkez is struggling to settle following his summer move from Bournemouth.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said: "They've also got problems at full-back, it's apparent they are missing Trent.

"Look at how they are playing, since the Burnley game they have not played the same right-back.

"They've gone with [Dominik] Szoboszlai, [Jeremie] Frimpong and Conor Bradley.

"Today, Bradley had a difficult 45 minutes and gets taken off. It's a problem area for them.

"Even at left-back, Kerkez looked like he was going to be a fantastic signing but he hasn't adjusted yet for whatever reason.

"The expectation of playing for Bournemouth then you come to Liverpool is completely different and he is finding it hard to settle.

"It might be a reason to give Andy Robertson a run."
