That means his contract will be worth much less than his current teammates in the same position and a renewal will cost Liverpool plenty in additional wages.

However if Jones is stalling on a new contract then there is only one likely outcome - Liverpool will find a buyer before his value drops to zero.

The Merseysiders however are already light on numbers in midfield and selling Jones without sourcing a replacement would be unthinkable.
