Liverpool have made contact with the representatives of their future Mo Salah replacement.

He's the Egyptian King of the Kop. There won't ever be anyone of his ilk. Salah is the best player of Liverpool's modern era.

Unfortunately, although he seems infallible, he is not. Sooner or later, the limitations of time will catch up with him, too. Many of us thought this summer could have been the end of it all but thankfully he extended for a further two years.

His current contract will keep him at Liverpool until he's 35-years-old. Beyond that, it seems difficult to believe the Reds' hierarchy would offer him another deal.

In fact, it is also moot whether Salah would even stay until the end of his final contract at Anfield. Nothing in life is guaranteed and Liverpool could very well decide to part ways with him next summer if a huge offer from Saudi Arabia came in for his services.

Salah probably won't want that to happen. His goal will be to stay at Liverpool for as long as possible.

Ultimately, though there is a deadline to his career. Everything must come to an end. Life will go on without him.

Just as life goes on and on in general.

So, what happens when he leaves? How will Liverpool replace him? Well, there's one solution. And probably only one solution.

He appears to be Michael Olise. The Frenchman is probably the only other world-class right-winger in European football at the moment, aside from Salah and Lamine Yamal - but the latter is impossible for the Reds to get.

Olise is the only realistic option who Liverpool could target and he's someone who has Premier League experience, would also count as a homegrown player so there's a lot to like there.

Obviously on top of everything, he's also an elite player with incredible qualities that would elevate this team and make the absence of Salah easier to bare.

Liverpool certainly realise this and they are already working on a possible deal behind the scenes.

According to the increasingly more reliable Indy Kalia, Liverpool officials have held a meeting with Glen Tweneboah, who is the registered intermediary acting on behalf of Olise.

Now this is very interesting because it's straight out of Richard Hughes' playbook. He met with Milos Kerkez's representatives around this time last year before bringing the Hungarian to Anfield.

First contact was initiated with Hugo Ekitike's agent as well months before the transfer materialised.

The same plan may be concocted for Olise as well. Bayern may have a thing or two to say about the matter. Football Transfers values him at €73m but the German side would likely ask for more.

There have been murmurs about a release clause being in place which could help matters so perhaps that was one thing on the agenda when the Reds met his agent.

At this stage, this is certainly one move to keep an eye on. It feels like Liverpool are already planning for life without Salah.
