Liverpool could be forced into the transfer market to bolster their attacking options with fears that Alexander Isak could be out for the long term.
The Telegraph say the Reds could look to trigger Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo’s release clause in January.
However, Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the Ghanaian, who has scored eight goals in 16 league games so far this season.
Isak suffered the injury after scoring his side’s opener in the 2-1 win over Tottenham and the Athletic report that the Swedish striker has suffered a suspected leg break from the challenge by Micky van de Ven.
The Athletic are also reporting that West Ham have shown shown interest in a January deal for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen
Hammers forward Niclas Fullkrug is reportedly in talks over a loan move to AC Milan in January, and Strand Larsen is being eyed as his replacement on a permanent transfer, though West Ham are believed to be just one of a number of suitors.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has warned that the club cannot afford to panic in the January transfer window despite being without several key players at present.
Bruno Fernandes is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury in the defeat to Aston Villa, while Bryan Mbeumo, Amad and Noussair Mazraoui are currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“What we cannot do is to reach January and try to do everything in urgency and make mistakes,” Amorim said. “And then, here we go again with a lot of mistakes.
“I am not going to get with Jason (Wilcox) and Omar (Berrada) and I am going to say we need a lot of players. Because we have a plan. If we have to suffer, the club comes first.
“Of course, we are in the moment that we need points, but we need to find solutions. And we are going to continue with our plan. Of course, you can feel that in this moment we are going to struggle, but we will see.”
Meanwhile, talks between Roma and Man Utd over a move for forward Joshua Zirkzee are “advancing” according to Fabrizio Romano.
