FT: Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

It's a much-needed win for the Premier League champions as they put an end to a horrid losing-run. It took some good fortune on the night, but three points are three points amid a slump.

We're into four minutes of stoppage time!

Aston Villa have nabbed a little bit of momentum in the dying minutes as they look to pull off a late miracle. For now, they remain two goals behind.

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

On comes Florian Wirtz as he replaces Hugo Ekitike! The latter couldn't get his name on the scoresheet today after his opener was ruled out by VAR.

There's been a little coming together on a Villa corner between Amadou Onana and Alexis Mac Allister. The Villa midfielder appeared to grab Mac Allister by the throat, but no punishment has been doled out.

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

Villa have totally collapsed since Liverpool's second goal. Emery's side are routinely giving the ball away at the back and certainly living life on the edge for now.

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

GOAL LIVERPOOL!

Liverpool have doubled their lead just before the hour-mark!

Ryan Gravenberch powered through midfield before his shot deflected into the back of the net off of Pau Torres. The Villa goalkeeper looked set to make the save before the deflection.

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

It's been a choppy start to this second-half from both teams as the game struggles to find any sort of rhythm.

Liverpool 1-0 Aston Villa

And we're back underway!

Aston Villa will look to shake off the late mistake as the two comes retake the pitch at Anfield.

GOAL LIVERPOOL! A GIFT FROM EMI MARTÍNEZ!

It's a total disaster for the Villa goalkeeper, who sent a misplaced pass straight to Mo Salah, and the Egyptian slotted home into an empty net.

Liverpool 1-0 Aston Villa

Liverpool's opener ruled out by VAR!

Liverpool appeared to have opened the scoring through Hugo Ekitike, but the Frenchman strayed just barely offside as he leapt above the Villa defence to head home.

It remains goalless just before the break.

Massive save by Emi Martínez!

A Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick was hit well on goal but the Argentine got low to parry the effort out of danger.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa

Sloppy play out of the back from Liverpool gifts Aston Villa a chance, but the Villa forwards couldn't link up cleanly. Slot won't be happy with this first 25 minutes.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa

Villa have responded quite well to a little spell of Liverpool pressure, flipping the script and pinning the hosts into their own half for five minutes.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa

Chance for Liverpool!

A superb solo run by Mo Salah nearly ended in style when Cody Gakpo flashed a header across the face of goal, but Hugo Ekitike was just out of reach to slam the chance home.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa

It's been a tentative start so far at Anfield, with neither side really getting up a head of steam.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa hit the post!

The first big chance of the game falls to the visitors as Morgan Rogers' curler from the edge of the box hit the post! Nearly 1-0 to Unai Emery's men.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa

And we're underway at Anfield!

Big night for Arne Slot's side.

And for the final match of the evening we have a massive showdown between Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Arne Slot's Premier League champions come into the night having lost six of their last seven in all competitions.

Rough night for Spurs...

FT: Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

It was a bad day at the office for Thomas Frank's side against London rivals Chelsea. The Blues take a massive leap up the table into fourth for now, level on points with Spurs.

Two huge chances for Chelsea in stoppage-time but they can't convert either! It remains a one-goal lead for now.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

Six minutes of added time!

Spurs remain in search of an equaliser.

Chelsea have slowed this game down to a crawl as they look to see out the final 10 minutes with a win.

Chance for Chelsea!

Tottenham are certainly gaining some momentum towards finding an equaliser, but at the other end Pedro Neto forced a tough save out Vicario from the right-wing.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

A bad challenge from Enzo Fernández has sparked another major scuffle between the two sides, but the Argentine only sees yellow for the tackle.

Yellow Card for Spurs

Xavi Simons with a cynical tackle on Alejandro Garnacho, seeing the Dutchman get penciled into the referee's book.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

Spurs are perhaps gaining some momentum as most of the opening five minutes have been played in the Chelsea half. The sloppiness has not dissipated for Thomas Frank's side however.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

And we're back underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium!

HALF-TIME

It's been a rough opening 45 minutes for Spurs as they trail at the break. Chelsea perhaps should be two or three goals in the clear.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

Yellow card for Spurs

Rodrigo Bentancur is perhaps lucky to still be on the pitch after a nasty challenge on Reece James. VAR did check for serious foul play, but the yellow card stood after the check.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

CHELSEA NEARLY DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!

Spurs continue to struggle to get out of their own half, and João Pedro was left all alone on the penalty-spot. His half-volley was thunderous but Vicario made a strong save in the Spurs goal.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

GOAL FOR CHELSEA!

The deadlock has finally been broken as Chelsea take the lead through João Pedro! Spurs struggled to clear their lines, allowing Moisés Caicedo to slip Pedro in for the opener.

Thomas Frank has booted his water bottle in frustration after a string of Spurs giveaways lead to the opening goal.

Spurs 0-1 Chelsea

CHANCE FOR CHELSEA!

A bad bounce allowed João Pedro in behind but Vicario came up big for Spurs to stick a leg out and make a save on the Brazilian's effort.

Spurs 0-0 Chelsea

Vicario is back up and playing on!

Spurs injury crisis could deepen here as Guglielmo Vicario is down receiving treatment from the medical staff. Bad luck for Thomas Frank's side so far this season.

20 minutes in at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and there is very little to write home about. Neither side has fashioned a truly dangerous scoring chance as of yet.

Spurs 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are seeing all of the ball in the opening 15 minutes as Spurs struggle to get out of their own half. But it's only simple probing from the Blues for now.

Spurs 0-0 Chelsea

Very slow, scrappy start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening!

SPURS SUBSTITUTION

Xavi Simons is on for Bergvall as a concussion substitution.

Spurs 0-0 Chelsea

It appears the Swede will be forced out of the match with a head injury, despite his insistence to the Spurs physios that he is alright.

We've got an early stoppage here as Lucas Bergvall is receiving treatment for a head injury.
