Frimpong and Wirtz were two of the first signings that Liverpool made in the summer.
The duo were key to Bayer Leverkusen's invincible season under Xabi Alonso with both players emerging as some of the best in the Bundesliga.
As mentioned, the quality they showed in Germany was expected to carry over but up until recently, neither of them seemed to reach their peak.
But, since both have had a bit of an upturn in form recently, what Frimpong said about Wirtz should get fans excited.
While speaking to the media, Frimpong waxed lyrical about his teammate with the Dutchman stating that there's still more to come from the attacking midfielder.
"When I heard he was coming [to Liverpool], it put a smile on my face," he said in quotes relayed by BBC Sport.
We basically started our Leverkusen careers together and we're starting our Liverpool career together as well.
"[Off the pitch] we talk, obviously, but sometimes we stay at home. Sometimes we link up, go to town, go to a restaurant. We do normal things.
"I know how good of a player Flo is. Like I've said in plenty of interviews, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have won a treble with Leverkusen. We know how good he is and to see him doing it now, this is just the start. There's plenty more to come from him.
"I think he is the type of player that doesn't care about things [like] the price tag. He's just happy to play football.
"I think Flo takes pressure really well. He's just a guy that loves the ball at his feet. When he plays, he's just enjoying it. I don't think he cares about all this. He knows how good he is. He just wants to play."
As Frimpong mentioned, there's no denying that Wirtz is a talented player.
Indeed, the £116 million that was spent on him may feel a little steep at the moment but if he continues producing performances to the level he has over the last couple of weeks, he'll be worth every penny.
Although he may not have fully adjusted to the physicality of the Premier League just yet, his creative spark coupled with his keen eye for goal could make him one of the Reds' most important players, especially when Alexander Isak returns from injury.
Plenty of things haven't gone Liverpool's way this year but if Wirtz can turn his performances up another gear or two, they could be onto a winner.
Granted, the Premier League title feels like it'll be out of reach now due to the 14-point gap between Liverpool and Arsenal but if they can make a good name for themselves in the Champions League and finish in the top four, that would be ideal.
