The €40m (£34.6m) fee activates the release clause in Munoz's contract at theLa Liga side, with Real Madrid opting against activating their buy-back deal on the 22-year-old.

Munoz joined Osasuna from Real Madrid for a fee of just €5m last summer and impressed in his debut campaign, scoring six times and providing two assists.

His performances saw him make his Spain debut in March, scoring against Serbia on his first appearance, and earn inclusion in the European champion's World Cup squad.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that the agreement has been finalised between Munoz and Liverpool, with the winger set to link up with the Reds after the World Cup.

Munoz ranked in the top 10% of wingers across Europe's top five leagues for progressive carries and dribbles completed last season, while he operated on both flanks and as a central forward on occasion.

He will arrive to add depth to a Liverpool forward line set to lose Mohamed Salah this summer, while Hugo Ekitike is sidelined until January with an Achilles injury.
