Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher will be honoured by Athletic Club as their One Club Man for 2025.
Each year the iconic Basque side honour a player across the world who played all their professional career for just one team.
The award has been going for a decade now with previous recipients including: Matthew Le Tissier (Southampton FC, 2015), Paolo Maldini (AC MilĂĄn, 2016), Sepp Maier (Bayern MĂŒnchen, 2017), Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona, 2018), Billy McNeill (Celtic FC, 2019), Ryan Giggs (Manchester United, 2020), Ricardo Bochini (Club AtlĂ©tico Independiente, 2022), JoĂŁo Pinto (FC Porto, 2023) and Giuseppe Bergomi (FC Internazionale de Milan, 2024).
This year it will be Carragher's turn with the defender having played 737 times for the Anfield outfit.
Speaking to Athletic, Carragher said: "âAfter winning the Champions League, being a one-club man is the biggest achievement of my career.
âIt was an honour when Athletic Club got in touch. Athletic are respected everywhere in the world of football. Theyâre a truly unique club.
âIâm very honoured to receive this award and to know my names will always remain alongside some great footballers like Paolo Maldini and Carles Puyol.
âAs soon as I started playing for Liverpool, I knew I wanted to be a one-club man. I like the idea that when people ask: âwho did you play for?â You respond: âLiverpoolâ and nothing else. I was a supporter on the pitch.â
Carragher will receive his award prior to Athletic's game with Girona on September 23.
