Liverpool legend makes surprise claim about Real Madrid | OneFootball

Throughout their time as a club, Liverpool have had some outstanding players.

Mohamed Salah is arguably the Reds' best in recent memory but, alongside him, there are many others who have gained legendary status at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's era was one of the best times in Liverpool's history and, the German solidified himself as one of the Reds' greats thanks to the sheer amount of success he brought to L4.

He put Liverpool back on the map as one of the world's biggest teams and, the Reds' fanbase will always be indebted to the German.

However, one of his former Liverpool players have just made a rather shocking claim about Real Madrid which directly involves the Anfield outfit.

Fabinho claims that Real Madrid are the best club in the world

Real Madrid and Liverpool have managed to develop a little bit of a rivalry over the last decade.

The two clubs have met one another at multiple stages of the Champions League and, thanks to Los Blancos' pull, they've managed to bring two of the Reds' best defenders to the Bernabeu on free transfers over the last couple of years,

Rumours about Jose Mourinho wanting to sign Alexis Mac Allister this summer have also started to emerge so, at the moment, the La Liga side are the ones on the up.

However, the Reds are also vying for a transfer of their own with Eduardo Camavinga firmly in their sights as they look to bolster their defensive midfield ranks.

Ever since Fabinho left, Liverpool have struggled to fill the void left by the Brazilian and, now that he's a free agent again, rumours about his future have been rife with Los Blancos even linked with a move for the 32-year-old.

And now, while speaking to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito in quotes relayed by Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian has made a rather shocking claim about Los Blancos which may annoy Liverpool's fans.

"Real Madrid move? It’s the best club in the world," he said.

Liverpool fans will not be impressed by what Fabinho said

Most players who play for Liverpool claim that the Reds are the biggest and best team in the world.

At times, this is mostly true but, especially during Fabinho's era at the club, this was almost certainly true.

Klopp and his men were unstoppable with the Brazilian managing to win the Premier League and the Champions League with the Anfield outfit, forever cementing his status as a Liverpool legend.

However, not that he has said Los Blancos are the best, Liverpool's fans may have been left with a bit of a sour taste in their mouths.

Obviously, it's Fabinho's opinion and it's up to him who he sees as the best club in the world but, you'd have at least expected him to give a thought for his former club, rather than claiming that one of their European rivals are far better than them.
