Liverpool are looking at an incredible winger to join the club.

So, Antoine Semenyo seems to be heading to the Etihad rather than Anfield. And that is going to leave Liverpool feeling disappointed. Richard Hughes had come so close to luring his former play to the Reds.

Ultimately, for one reason or another the transfer fell through and Semenyo opted to sign elsewhere. Why he made that decision and whether or not Liverpool were seriously interested in him, remains to be seen.

By all accounts Liverpool definitely want to add another winger to their ranks and Semenyo seemed like an ideal profile.

Alas, it's not meant to be but it doesn't mean that the club has given up their pursuit of looking at other targets.

Liverpool need more depth in attack and that's why they are going to be pursuing alternatives, whether in January or in the summer transfer window.

Now a report in the Daily Mail has revealed that one of the options Liverpool are looking at is Said El Mala, who has been watched by the club's scouts and who the Reds could be ready to move for.

It's a move that is unlikely to happen in January but could be a genuine option for Liverpool in the summer. El Mala ticks a lot of boxes. He's young, excellent in one vs one situations, and versatile having the ability to play across the front three.

He's an incredible talent, who is already being touted as one of the leading stars of the next German generation. And he's being dubbed as the next Florian Wirtz because of their connection to Cologne.

Before Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz made a name for himself at FC Koln. That is where he developed a reputation as one of Germany's most exciting talents and where he came through the academy youth ranks.

Now 19-year-old, El Mala is following in Wirtz's footsteps at Koln.

The left-winger has nine goal contributions in 15 Bundesliga games for Koln so far this season. He's been very effective in front of goal which is how he has caught the attention of the German national team.

But there's more to El Mala just goals and assists. He's a street footballer of the best kind.
