Liverpool have made a remarkable offer to sign Victor Osimhen according to a recent report.

The Reds want to sign a no.9 this summer. Richard Hughes has made it his priority and it's an area he's going to aggressively pursue after completing the sale of Darwin Nunez.

But who that striker could be remains to be a mystery. Liverpool's dream target is Alexander Isak, who the club has pursued for close to a decade and who they believe there is a slight chance Newcastle might be willing to sell.

Getting a deal over the line for Isak will be difficult. No matter how experienced he is in the Premier League, there will be question marks whether the extortionate amount Newcastle will demand for his services will be worth the price.

There are other options on the market as well. Hugo Ekitike is also well-liked by the club. As Anfield Watch revealed exclusively, Liverpool have held talks with his representatives to sign him since April.

Whether that deal is viable though will hinge on Eintracht Frankfurt's asking price. So, that leaves only one other possibility.

Osimhen is another forward who the club's hierarchy admire. They have been tracking his progress since his Lille days and Liverpool made a strong pursuit for his services when he moved to Napoli.

At the time, Napoli were so desperate not to lose the race, they made a desperate move to convince the Nigerian to chose the Italian side.

The rest is history, Osimhen ended-up breaking records at Napoli, winning their first scudetto in 30-years, the first since Diego Maradona - before the relationship soured with the club.

Now Napoli are very much open to listening to offers for Osimhen after he spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

Osimhen's desire is to play in the Premier League. We revealed exclusively that Liverpool considered making a move for him in January in order to replace Nunez, who was the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia.

At the time a deal for Osimhen did not materialise. Particularly, because Nunez was not sold. This time around things could be different.

Osimhen is still on the market at the moment. So far he's not received any enticing offer and it doesn't look like he has a significant suitor from Europe.

Apart from Liverpool if Empire of the Kop is to be believed. They report that Liverpool admire Osimhen and have even made an extraordinary offer for him.

According to their claim, Liverpool made an offer to Napoli worth £17m plus Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez. This offer is now under consideration by the Italian club.

Whether they will accept or not remains to be seen. It would certainly be quite a remarkable deal, and unprecedented of its kind, seeing three players involved in on transfer.

But at the same time, if Liverpool can bring Osimhen in, it would be a blockbuster signing. Liverpool's frontline would flourish with him leading the line.
