Liverpool may have quietly suffered a second major injury against Chelsea on Saturday. We're now just waiting on an update.
Arne Slot confirmed one injury on Saturday after Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It was another heartbreaking loss - a last-gasp winner after the Reds had got back into the game.
In truth, Liverpool just weren’t good enough against a weakened Chelsea team. They still should have come away with a point, but there were more worrying signs.
But what really makes things worse are the injuries. We already know Giovanni Leoni will miss the rest of the season, while Alisson Becker will remain out until November.
Now Ibrahima Konate has a problem, having been removed early in London with a thigh issue. It remains to be seen if that will keep him out at all - Slot wasn’t sure post-match.
However, that may not have been the only injury for Liverpool against Chelsea.
Andy Robertson came on as a second-half substitute against Chelsea but may have ended up injuring himself. The Scot was seen limping off at the end.
"Andy Robertson limping off after the final whistle," the Athletic's James Pearce wrote on Twitter. "Looked in a fair bit of discomfort."
