In a recent report, journalist Steve Pearson stated that Liverpool have been offered a chance to re-sign Darwin Nunez this summer. It has been claimed that the Reds have been given a chance to bring the Uruguayan striker back to Anfield in this transfer window.
The 26-year-old had an impressive campaign with Al-Hilal recently as he produced a handful of eye-catching performances for them in front of the opponent’s goal. Nunez banged in nine goals and grabbed five assists in 24 matches for the Saudi club last season on all fronts.
The Uruguay international proved himself to be a reliable performer in the Saudi Pro League. Hence, it makes sense for the Reds to try and lure him back to Anfield this off-season.
Nunez already knows the Premier League well from his previous spell at the Merseyside club, so he wouldn’t take much time to adjust to life in England if Liverpool manage to re-sign him later this year.

Nunez can use his quickness to get the better of his marker in the final third. He is a streaky goal-scorer and can even chip in by creating the odd goal for his team.
The Uruguayan striker is even quite clever with his movements in and around the opposition penalty area. Nunez is primarily a centre-forward but can also function as a left-winger if told to do so by his manager. He has already got some experience in the Premier League and is well equipped to make an instant impact at Anfield if the Reds manage to snap him up this summer.
Nunez would add more firepower to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s frontline. He has what it takes to serve as a good replacement for Hugo Ekitike, who will miss the start of next season due to injury.
At 26, Nunez has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a good option for the Reds to pursue in this summer transfer period. He will also help Liverpool compete across all competitions over the next few years. Therefore, Iraola should think about bringing Nunez back to the Merseyside club this off-season.
