The Reds number one was in sensational form against PSG

Alisson Becker says he produced the “the performance of my life” in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Alisson faced nine shots at the Parc des Princes and made nine saves, some of which were outstanding, particularly from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.

Even when the Brazilian was beaten in the first-half, the semi-automated offside technology came to the rescue as Kvaratskhelia’s goal was disallowed.

That said, Alisson’s clean sheet provided the platform for Harvey Elliott to score in the 87th minute to snatch victory for the Reds in the last-16 first-leg tie.

In fact, at the final whistle, it was noticeable that every Liverpool player made their way over to Alisson before congratulating the goalscorer, with a clear indication as to who they thought was key to the win.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Alisson said: "It was probably the performance of my life. The manager was telling us how hard it would be to play against PSG, how good they are with the ball and that we would have to be ready to suffer.

“We knew what was coming.

"We worked hard. We gave away so many chances, sometimes one v one but the biggest part of the chase is having someone make the player with the chance think a bit more.

"All the efforts the team put in makes my job easier. Then at the end Harvey [Elliott] coming in and scoring the goal, it is a great story for us. A great night."

If Alisson is able to keep another clean sheet in the second leg at Anfield next week then Liverpool will seal a place in the Champions League quarter-final and a potential all-Premier League tie against Aston Villa.
