Centre-back is going to be a priority for the Liverpool sporting director. Marc Guehi has been touted as the most obvious solution to that problem.
But there's also Jeremy Jacquet, who could be available for Liverpool and a few other options on the market like Ousmande Diomande, who is well-liked by scouts at Anfield.
Given the investment into the attack, this is an area that looks less in need of an injection of new blood. However, there is probably room for one more option.
With Mo Salah's age and the fact that he now has less than two years left on his contract, Liverpool need to be looking towards the future.
A right-winger is definitely going to be on the club's radar in the coming year and now there's a new name to add to the list.
According to BolaVip Liverpool are readying an offer for Brazilian teenage sensation Alysson Edward.
He's just signed a new contract with his club Gremio until December 2029. Sport Witness reports that his previous release clause was €60m. Whether that figure has increased in his new deal has not yet been disclosed.
But the fact of the matter is that Liverpool scouts have supposedly been following Alysson for several months now and they like what they see.
Based on the numbers, it's easy to see why. Alysson is a fun player first and foremost. He's someone who loves to take players on and he's very good at it.
The right-winger has averaged over five dribbles per 90 in his senior career with Gremio so far and has succeeded in a really impressive 58% of his attempts.
One goal and one assist in 1600 minutes isn't a remarkable statistic for a winger but he does play for a side who don't tend to score a lot of goals. Gremio are ranked just 11th for goals scored in the Brazilian top flight this season.
Alysson's underlying numbers would suggest he should have more goal contributions, too. His xG for Gremio is 2.7 and his expected assists is 2.32 in total.
This means his goals and assists threat is around 0.28 per 90 minutes, which isn't an awful number for a player playing in a mid-table team - especially when it's a young player still learning his trade.

There's a lot to admire with Alysson when it comes to his defensive side of the game, too. He averages 6 defensive duels per 90 minutes which is really high for a winger and he wins 61.3% of his duels.
A tall winger at 1.84 metres, Alysson has really quick feet, he's also fast and that helps when it comes to making recovery runs and tracking back to help out in the defensive side of the game.
If indeed Liverpool are making an offer for him this would be a landmark deal. The Reds haven't really broken into the Brazilian market since Michael Edwards has been in charge at the club.
There have been attempts but they have all failed with the likes of Rodrygo and others rejecting the club's advances.
Liverpool's last significant transfer from Brazil happened almost 20 years ago when Lucas Leiva joined from Gremio in 2007. Since then, Allan from Internacional and Marcelo Pitaluga from Fluminense have both been academy signings.
Alysson would not be that, despite his tender age. The omens in terms of him moving to Anfield look good though considering the last time the Reds did business with a club from Brazil over a first-team transfer it was Gremio.
So this is one to keep an eye on.
