Liverpool are prepared to listen to offers for Darwin Nunez this summer but will demand at least £70 million from interested clubs.

According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old is attracting serious interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, with Al-Hilal considered the front-runners.

Nunez has endured a mixed three-year spell at Liverpool and could leave this summer.

He made 47 appearances across all competitions this season, notching seven goals and seven assists. But he only started 17 of those games.

Despite his wastefulness in the final third, Nunez was a threat coming off the bench. He may have struggled to hit the target, but his speed, physicality, and relentless pressing were valuable assets.

If he can refine his goalscoring skills, he could become one of the deadliest strikers in Europe, but he may have run out of time to do that at Liverpool.

Despite being the only out-and-out striker in the team, Slot preferred deploying Luis Diaz or Diogo Jota at centre forward. Nunez is not part of the manager’s long-term plans.

Starting afresh elsewhere could be the pick-me-up Nunez needs to get his once-promising career back on track, but Liverpool’s valuation complicates his chances of staying in Europe.

Liverpool’s valuation suggests they’re hoping to land a huge payday from interested clubs in Saudi Arabia who are willing to splash the cash for Nunez.

Al-Nassr were willing to match Liverpool’s asking price in January, but they weren’t interested in doing business at the time.

Slot wanted to keep his tightly knit squad together as they made a strong push for the Premier League title. With that now in the bag, they’re ready to listen to offers for Nunez.

Al-Nassr could return, but they’ll face competition from Al-Hilal. It is unclear if Liverpool will sign a striker this summer, but offloading Nunez would give them more funds to work with.

The Reds are currently working on deals for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
