Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to return from injury against Nottingham Forest this weekend, but Florian Wirtz, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong have been ruled out.

Alisson has been out of action since being late September when he hurt his hamstring during the 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.

Wirtz and Bradley have both suffered muscle injuries during the international break. Arne Slot could not put a timeline on Wirtz’ recovery, but confirmed that Bradley will be out for at least the next three weeks.

There was hope that Frimpong would recover from a thigh injury in time for the visit of Forest, but Slot confirmed that the right-back will miss up to three more weeks of action.

Andy Robertson, meanwhile, has not trained with the squad following his exploits with Scotland this week, but will train on Friday and should be available for selection.

“Andy Robertson didn’t train yet but he will be with us today,” Slot revealed at his pre-match press conference.

“Alisson trained last week and this week so he will be able to play tomorrow if things work out well today. If he’s ready to play, he will start.

“But we do have some issues after the international break, unfortunately. Conor Bradley is not able to play and Florian Wirtz is not able to play. That’s far from ideal.”

Expanding on the issues faced by Wirtz and Bradley, the Liverpool boss added: “Both are muscle injuries. Conor I don’t expect to play in the next 22 days unless a miracle happens, which I don’t expect. Maybe towards the end.

“Florian, it depends on how things work, but it should not be that long.

“Jeremie Frimpong is out for the next two or three weeks as well so it’s going to be interesting who all of you want to see as right-back.”
