The Sun reports that Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has purchased highly trained Doberman protection dog following what the newspaper describes as "serious & credible threats" directed at the 26 year old since his arrival at Anfield.

According to the report, Isak spent approximately €34000 on Doberman supplied by Phoenix Dogs, a specialist organisation that provides highly trained security dogs to athletes and high profile clients.

The dog will reportedly live with him at his new residence and accompany him during outings around Liverpool.

The Sun claims the decision came after Isak received death threats and robbery threats prompting him to increase his personal security.

A record signing under pressure

The Swedish international has struggled to reproduce the form he displayed at Newcastle. His slow start, combined with Liverpool’s poor run under Arne Slot has intensified scrutiny on the striker.
