Liverpool submit final Ibrahima Konaté extension offer | OneFootball

For months, there has been uncertainty surrounding Ibrahima Konaté’s (26) future at Liverpool, however, there will soon be clarity. 

As per a report from Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool have submitted a final contract extension offer for the Frenchman, who must now respond. Konaté’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the current campaign, and the reigning Premier League champions have been diligent in trying to keep the defender at Anfield.

However, Konaté has yet to sign on the dotted line. It has been reported that the France international, who captained Les Bleus during Sunday’s 3-1 win over Azerbaijan, is keen on a move to Real Madrid, moving to the Bernabeu on a free, as his compatriot, Kylian Mbappé, did in the summer of 2024. Reports in France now suggest, however, that Los Blancos have made another French defender, Dayot Upamecano, their priority target.

In this context, Liverpool have made one final offer to Konaté, which would make him one of the highest-paid players at the Merseyside club. His decision is expected in the coming weeks. He can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January.
