Liverpool are preparing an improved offer for Yan Diomandé after an opening proposal of €100m was turned down.

RB Leipzig are determined to keep hold of the in-demand winger for a further season, despite strong interest from Europe.

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have both pursued Diomande, with the former submitting a €100m (£86.7m) bid earlier this week. The offer was an initial €90m, with a further €10m in add-ons, and was rejected by theBundesliga side.

Leipzig are ready to resist further approaches, though Diomande has told the club that his preference is to leave now.Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Liverpool are set to submit a new bid imminently.

Diomande signed for Leipzig from Leganes last summer and enjoyed a breakout campaign in theBundesliga.

The 19-year-old scored 12 goals and added eight assists, and this summer has become the youngest player to appear for his country at a World Cup. He was named man of the match as Ivory Coast beat Ecuador in their tournament opener.

Liverpool view Diomande as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah, who is set to leave Anfield this summer after nine seasons.
