Liverpool are reportedly working harder than anyone as they seek to agree a deal for a fantastic France international. What a signing this would be.
Liverpool have their eyes on transfers - and how couldn't they after this start to the season? The massive summer spend hasn't delivered what they hoped and performances just haven't been good enough.
In particular, the attack isn't functioning as planned. Liverpool lack pace and they lack proper direct running out wide - something Luis Diaz had provided last season.
But the Reds sold Diaz without replacing him over the summer. It leaves the door open for a new winger and Liverpool may want to go big once again.
After all, this could well be the 'missing piece' of the puzzle and the signing that gets the rest of them working, too. And that might be why they're working hard on signing a France international.
Caught Offside reports that Liverpool are the team working hardest to sign Bradley Barcola. The Frenchman isn’t getting the regular football that he’d want with Paris Saint-Germain and a move looks more and more likely.
Barcola didn’t play as often as he’d like last season, either. That appeared to open the door in the summer for a transfer, though the player remained at PSG.
But he’s still not a starter. Barcola has just nine Ligue 1 starts this season out of 17 top-flight matches, meaning he’s on course to start around 18 across the campaign.
