Manu Kone will miss the Easter Serie A clash between Roma and Inter Milan after sustaining a bicep femorale injury to his right leg during Thursday’s Europa League match against Bologna.
Sky Sport report, via FCInterNews, that the France midfielder faces at least a month on the sidelines.
The injury is a blow for Roma at a critical point of their season, depriving them of one of their most important midfield players for a fixture that carries significant implications in the race for European qualification.
Roma currently sit in 6th place in Serie A, three points off the top four, making the match against Inter a must-win affair.
For Inter, the news removes one of Roma‘s most dynamic performers from an already important fixture.
The Nerazzurri have been long-term admirers of Kone, identified by Cristian Chivu as the ideal box-to-box profile to strengthen Inter’s midfield this summer.
The France international will now watch the Easter showdown from the stands rather than testing himself against the club most keen to sign him, as Inter look to take another step toward the Scudetto at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Frenchman should return in time for the end of the season, as he aims to be a part of the France team at the World Cup.
