Luis de la Fuente rests Mikel Oyarzabal, will not play tonight against Iraq

Mikel Oyarzabal will not feature in tonight's World Cup warm-up against Iraq at Riazor, with Luis de la Fuente leaving the Real Sociedad forward out for technical reasons. He has no physical complaints.

According to Diario Vasco, the head coach has opted to rest him so he can reach the tournament in the best possible shape.

He intends to protect his most important players and will not take unnecessary risks in the first of two friendlies before the competition begins.

Pedri, Rodri and Cucurella are also omitted for technical reasons, while Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Víctor Muñoz remain in recovery.

Raya, Fabián and Zubimendi, who joined the camp on Wednesday, have not made the squad either for the Iraq game. Those left out completed an afternoon session at Deportivo's training centre.
