Bayern Munich are confident of progressing their transfer for Luis Díaz when they meet with Liverpool management soon after Diaz told Liverpool of his desire to leave, according to Bild and Sky Sports.

Bayern management expect to meet with Liverpool’s hierarchy imminently to finalise the transfer fee for the 28 year old Colombian.

Luis Diaz has handed in a transfer request at Liverpool and informed them of his wish to join Bayern Munich.

Diaz has been with Premier League champions, Liverpool since 2022.

Liverpool fought off interest from rivals, Tottenham to sign Diaz from Porto for €45 million (£37.5 million) with €15 million (£12.5 million) add-ons.

He has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Reds and won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and finished Champions League runner-up.

Last season, Diaz scored 13 times in 36 league appearances as Liverpool sailed to the Premier League title 10 points clear of second placed, Arsenal.

Diaz is now keen for a change and has set his sights on the Bundesliga.

Whilst Barcelona has expressed their interest, Bayern are Diaz’s preference.

Bayern have already agreed personal terms with Diaz, with a contract until 2029 and annual salary of €14 million.

Vincent Kompany has already approved the transfer.

Liverpool are not keen on selling Diaz this summer, and they have reportedly already rejected a £58.5 million (€67.5 million) bid from Bayern Munich.

Sources claim that Liverpool value Diaz at over £70million (€80.1 million).

They are willing to listen to offers and Bayern Munich are prepared to submit a new offer exceeding €70 million.

This transfer should be a matter of when, not if.
