Luis Enrique on Arsenal clash: ‘We’re very confident.’ | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain made the now familiar trip across the English Channel ahead of their Champions League semi-final against Arsenal tonight. The Ligue 1 champions have faced English opposition in the previous two rounds, having eliminated Liverpool in the Round of 16 and Aston Villa in the quarter-final.

Tonight may end up being the most difficult of the clashes, with the two sides having already met earlier in the season, where Arsenal won 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Despite this, Luis Enrique cut a confident figure in yesterday’s pre-match press conference.

The Spanish head coach said, “We’re very confident. We’re looking forward to playing this semi-final.” On whether it was an advantage playing other Premier League teams before Arsenal, Luis Enrique was uninterested, “It’s not important for us to know if it can help us or not.”

This will be the second time that Luis Enrique has led PSG to the Champions League semi-final. Last season, the club were eliminated at this stage by Borussia Dortmund, who went on to lose the final to Real Madrid.
