Corinthians lost 3-0 to Red Bull Bragantino at the Estádio Municipal de Bragança in the Paulista second round, as Luiz Gustavo Bahia made his first senior outing in almost five months. According to Meu Timao, the 20-year-old’s return was the main note on a difficult night.
Dorival Júnior rotated his side in Bragança Paulista and the academy midfielder started, playing 45 minutes before being withdrawn. He logged 15 actions on the ball and completed 83% of his passes, finding team-mates with 10 of 12 attempts. He also recorded three losses of possession and one unsuccessful control.
Defensively, he made one tackle, won one of four ground duels and did not win any in the air.
Bahia’s previous first-team appearance came on 16 August 2025, a 2-1 home defeat to Bahia in the Brasileiro, when he came off the bench at Neo Química Arena. His only other senior start was on 26 July 2025 against Botafogo at the Estádio Nilton Santos, a 1-1 draw, and he was also replaced at half-time.
He spent most of last season with the senior group, debuting in the Paulista under Ramón Díaz, but later lost his place and even missed matchday squads. In early 2026 he stepped down to the under-20s, took on a leadership role in the Copinha and started the win over Trindade-GO.
He began the year under William Batista but featured only in the first Copinha game. Maycon’s departure then opened a spot, prompting Dorival to reintegrate him for the opening Paulistão rounds. He remains available as Corinthians host São Paulo on Sunday 18 at 16:00 in the third round at Neo Química Arena.
