According to O Jogo, Luuk de Jong’s future at FC Porto remains undecided, with talks ongoing between the player and the club over his intentions, rehabilitation and family considerations.
The 35-year-old Netherlands international is out of contract in June and, although there is a possibility of an automatic one-year extension, his stay at Porto is far from guaranteed.
He is recovering from a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee, sustained late last year, with surgery in December. He is also dealing with a delicate family situation, with a close relative ill in the Netherlands, and is considering a return to Eindhoven to be closer to home.
He turns 36 in August and is still weighing whether to prolong his career. No definitive decision has been taken, and playing for a Dutch club remains possible if he leaves Porto.
For now he is focused on his physical recovery, and any decision on his future will be taken calmly and will depend on how those personal and professional factors develop.
