The decision from the DNCG to sanction Olympique Lyonnais with a provisional relegation has set clubs across Europe on high alert with a number of Les Gones players thought to be on the market in the upcoming transfer window.
According to a report from Sky Sports and later confirmed by Foot Mercato, Liverpool are one of the clubs looking at Lyon’s players, with the English club interested in a move for Rayan Cherki (21). However, the French outlet writes that Liverpool are far from alone in their interest. Last season’s Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen, are reportedly keeping an eye on the talented Frenchman.
Despite Lyon’s situation, the club will want more than the €15 million they were willing to sell Cherki for over the summer when he was heavily linked with a departure to Premier League side Fulham FC. Foot Mercato writes that the club’s asking price will start somewhere between €30 and €35 million.
