Arsenal Academy graduate Maddy Earl has signed her first professional contract with the club, following a dual-registration spell with Bristol City.

Earl made five appearances for Championship side Bristol City whilst on dual-registration. The 18-year-old initially joined the Arsenal at the age of eight. She has rapidly risen through the ranks of their academy system since. Earl has played a key role in the success of Arsenal’s youth teams, becoming one of their most highly regarded prospects.

She attended the Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup in Zurich with the U21s last year. Earl earned the Adidas Golden Ball award as recognition for her standout performances.

Earl went on to make her senior debut against the A-League All-Stars Women in May 2024. She also featured against Washington Spirit during pre-season. However, she is yet to make her competitive debut for the Gunners.Earl is a technically proficient attacking midfielder, with incredible skill and control on the ball. Her ability with both feet enables her to weave around opposition players with ease, making her a tough opponent to mark. She is an extremely creative player who is capable of contributing both goals and assists. This marks her as an exciting prospect to watch out for when it comes to the future of both England and Arsenal.

A milestone for Maddy Earl

The youngster also has a wealth of experience at international level, representing England at various youth levels. Earl regularly features for the England U19s and has participated in numerous international tournaments.Upon signing her new terms with the Gunners, Earl said: “Signing my first professional contract with Arsenal, my childhood club, is such an honour and a privilege. Arsenal feels like home and to be able to continue my development here is incredible.”Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re thrilled to see another young player progress through our academy to sign professional terms with us. Maddy has a great foundation to build on and through hard work and commitment, she can continue to grow and develop as a player as she embarks on her professional career.”
