Maghnes Akliouche (24) had looked set to depart AS Monaco last summer. However, the France international ultimately remained with his formative club, but he is now expected to depart at the end of the season, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Monaco valued Akliouche at €70m, but despite his impressive performances attracting interest from the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, no club was willing to meet the Principality club’s valuation.
As a result, he remained with Monaco. After a difficult start to the campaign, he has hit his stride since the turn of the year, and he has regularly turned in excellent performances for club and country. In France’s most recent game, a 3-1 win over Colombia, he was named man of the match.
Despite his key role, he is only the eighth-highest earner at the club. That is because he signed his last deal two seasons ago, and as he is set to depart this summer, with the club open to a sale, there have been no renewal talks.
