Al-Hilal have locked down one of their key assets by announcing the contract extension of Rúben Neves until 2029. Arriving in the summer of 2023, the Portuguese international was nearing the end of his initial deal, which sparked plenty of speculation about a possible return to Europe.

The Saudi club made the agreement official in a clear statement:

This extension, at least in the short term, closes the door on several European suitors. Having long been linked with Manchester United, Neves will not be returning to the Premier League—a significant blow for the Red Devils, who are actively seeking midfield reinforcements.
