The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be held in the United States, and 32 teams will compete for the $1 billion prize pool.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Palmeiras, Fluminense, Flamengo, Botafogo, Chelsea, and Manchester City are among the teams in the line-up.

Fans, pundits, leagues, and players have criticised the tournament’s timing and unnecessary expansion.

FIFA World Cup 2026 – US, Canada & Mexico

The World Cup will be held in North America in 2026, where the US, Canada, and Mexico plan to stage it together.

The 23rd edition of the tournament will be the first to feature 48 teams and three host countries.

It takes place from June 11 to July 19, and teams have started battling to book their places.

UEFA European Championship 2028 – United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland

The 18th UEFA European Championship will be jointly hosted by England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. It is projected to take place from June 9 to July 9.

Euro 2024 finalists England will be eyeing the 2028 showpiece as their chance to win the tournament for the first time, especially on home soil.

Their neighbours are also keen to give an excellent account of themselves as hosts.

Summer Olympics Football Tournament 2028 – US

The 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles will use existing venues for the football tournament to promote sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

The Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena is slated to host the men’s and women’s football semi-finals and finals, marking its third Olympic involvement.

The BMO Stadium in Exposition Park will be the venue for flag football and lacrosse competitions.

FIFA World Cup 2030 – Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Argentina & Paraguay

Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will host the 2030 World Cup.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has criticised FIFA’s proposal to expand the 2030 FIFA Men’s World Cup to 64 teams, saying it would disrupt the qualification process and dilute competition quality.

European football’s governing body has already adjusted to the 48-team format for the 2026 World Cup, but Ceferin believes further expansion is excessive.

UEFA European Championship 2030 – Italy & Turkey

Italy and Turkiye will co-host the UEFA European Championship 2032,

Ten stadiums (five per country) will be selected by 2026 from a list of 20. Italian venues include the iconic San Siro and the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Florence and Bologna could also be host cities.

Turkey’s stadiums include Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Ankara’s New Stadium and major venues in Bursa, Trabzon and Antalya.

The 2032 Summer Olympics in Brisbane will feature football matches across various Australian cities, including Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
