Mallorca chief provides surprise Pablo Maffeo future update | OneFootball

RCD Mallorca sporting director Pablo Ortells has provided an update on the latest developments surrounding the future of defender Pablo Maffeo.

Right-back Maffeo has for his part long been expected to bring a close to the Son Moix chapter of his career this summer.

As much comes after a major fallout with the Mallorca faithful late in the campaign, creating a division which appeared unfixable.

With the 27-year-old nevertheless still held in high regard for his talents on the pitch, offers for his signature were in turn widely expected.

As confirmed by the aforementioned Pablo Ortells, however, to date, no such proposals have been forthcoming.

Speaking during an interview with Onda Cero, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, this week, Ortells in fact went as far as to claim that the Bermellones are continuing to ‘count on’ Maffeo with a view to next season:

“He currently has a contract and we’re counting on him. Nothing has arrived for Maffeo.”
