Martin Demichelis is already facing a defining moment early into his tenure at Mallorca, with a daunting clash against Real Madrid coming at a critical stage of the season.
Having only recently taken charge, Demichelis finds himself under immediate pressure as Mallorca continue their fight to avoid relegation.
Despite the magnitude of the challenge, the Argentine coach made it clear that belief within the squad remains intact.
Reflecting on the team’s mentality ahead of the game, he said, “alive, eager to bring joy to their fans.”
The Mallorca boss also addressed the complexities surrounding the timing of the fixture, particularly with the international break affecting squad availability and fitness levels.
When asked whether facing Real Madrid at this point offers any advantage, he avoided giving a direct answer but highlighted the physical toll on his players.
“With all due respect to Real Madrid, we have five players away this week and a half for their respective national teams.

“Between the fatigue of those 13 players, playing on Tuesday against a top Champions League side, and the international players being worn out by travel and matches, we will approach it with all the respect Madrid deserves.
“But we’re going to focus exclusively on ourselves,” he said.
On the other side, Alvaro Arbeloa is fully aware that this will be far from a routine fixture for Real Madrid.
With Mallorca fighting for survival, the intensity of the contest is expected to be significantly higher than usual.
“We’re already aware of the demands of tomorrow’s match, because Mallorca needs the points just as much as we do.
“We’re ready. It’s never easy to play away from home after a break. There are nine finals left, and tomorrow is the first one,” said the Real Madrid manager.
